Abnormal Paps - It is important to monitor and treat abnormal paps and cervical abnormalities based on the most current guidelines. If procedures are needed, Dr. Kennedy can keep most procedures done in the office and manage as conservatively but as thorough as possible.

Contraception - We can prescribe and perform almost all types of contraception from birth control pills to IUD's and implantable forms, to permanent sterilization. Options include hormones that are taken daily or regularly in a short term, to longer term methods. Also consider reversible or non-reversible methods.

Endometriosis Treatment - therapy for endometriosis first consists of an accurate diagnosis, then careful consideration of either medical or surgical management. There are many hormones and anti-hormones that can be used to manage symptoms of endometriosis. We can do surgery for endometriosis locally that usually involves minimally invasive laparoscopy and removal of the abnormalities.

Hysterectomy - Being minimally invasive, most women go home that same night. There are a few methods to keep this surgery as simple as possible and the recovery as smooth as possible.

Labiaplasty - Labiaplasty is a cosmetic procedure that can reshape the labia to have a different appearance or function. See additional information at Labiaplasty.

Menopausal Symptoms and Hot Flushes - can be managed with hormone therapy and bioidentical hormones or non-hormonal methods. The latter includes prescription medication, amplementary and alternative medicine, homeopathic supplements, and other lifestyle managements.

MonaLisa Touch - We are the first practice in Northwest Florida to offer this procedure to our patients. It utilizes a laser for the treatment of vaginal and vulvar genitourinary syndrome of menopause, or vaginal atrophy, as well as postmenopausal, low hormone, pain, urinary, and skin conditions. Monat Naturally-based Hair Care - Monat hair systems are naturally based and can decrease health problems associated with our products, and can improve hair growth and texture. Monat Hair Care

Painful Intercourse - Management includes a thorough workup for causes. The best treatment for postmenopausal painful intercourse is either MonaLisa Touch laser treatment or hormones. Dr. Kennedy can streamline what will be the most effective management for the individual woman.

Pelvic Floor Repair - Defects in the pelvic floor and support can cause functional problems with sexual, bowel, and bladder implications. The pelvic floor can be addressed with conservative measures and surgery to improve and repair defects.

Pelvic Pain - Dr. Kennedy is the only physician in the area who is member of the International Pelvic Pain Society, which allows various types of remedies to be brought to the practice in this area. Many medical problems can be the cause of pelvic pain. Sometimes pelvic pain needs to be evaluated to find the diagnosis and develop a management strategy.

Screening and Preventive Services - We coordinate adequate screening of cervical cancer with pap smears, breast cancer with mammograms, and colon cancer with colonoscopy and gastroenterology consult. If a woman has an abnormal pap, we follow this very closely with a regimen that is discussed and agreed with the individual.

Surgical Services - Any surgery is performed in the most minimally invasive method possible. Options are reviewed in detail and each procedure is tailored specifically to the individual.

Urinary Incontinence - can be treated with methods such as medurethral sling, periurethral bulking, and other noninvasive or minimally invasive methods.
